OceanSafe is dedicated to fostering sustainable practices in the textile industry. Recent visits to Portugal and welcoming a delegation from Indonesia highlight our commitment.
Strengthening Partnerships in Portugal
OceanSafe’s Textile Technology Manager, Alexandra Haag, and our Swiss brand partner NIKIN AG visited production partners in Portugal to strengthen relationships and observe the use of our biodegradable material, naNea. The visit included meetings about the OceanSafe Certified business model with Rütex and a tour of the production facilities to see how naNea and Cradle to Cradle Certified® fabrics are used in NIKIN products. Alexandra also conducted a training session on the Cradle-to-Cradle mindset, discussing naNea’s enhanced sustainability and performance. The enthusiasm we encountered during the trip reinforced our strong commitment for a circular textile industry.
Inspiring Future Experts
OceanSafe recently welcomed guests from Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) and a delegation from Indonesia as part of a 4-year project with Universitas Indonesia (UI). The delegation visited OceanSafe to learn about the challenges in the textile industry and our biodegradable polyester, naNea. Business Development Manager Belén Rossenbach facilitated the visit, sharing insights and exchanging ideas on circularity in the fashion industry.
Commitment to Sustainability
These visits highlight OceanSafe’s dedication to sustainability and innovation. By strengthening partnerships and inspiring future textile experts, we continue to advance sustainable textiles and transition to a circular industry.
