OceanSafe is proud to share the progress of HydroActive, a next-generation performance concept developed together with HUGO BOSS and feinjersey. The project brings together HUGO BOSS’s forward-looking vision for responsible performance wear, feinjersey’s engineering excellence in circular knitting and OceanSafe’s marine-biodegradable naNea co-polyester.
HydroActive was first presented on the Main Stage at Performance Days Munich in October 2025, where it received strong industry attention as an example of how high-performance textile innovation and circular material strategies can align without compromise. The concept delivers a refined hand feel, reliable moisture management, durability and comfort, while building on a polymer foundation designed for full circularity.
Feinjersey played a central role in translating the design vision into industrial reality. Their expertise in advanced knit structures and process engineering enabled HydroActive to evolve quickly from an idea into a technically robust, scalable fabric platform. The collaboration illustrates how material innovation and textile craftsmanship must work hand in hand to accelerate sustainable product development.
The driving force behind this project has been Josef Härle from HUGO BOSS, whose leadership and clarity of vision guided the direction of HydroActive, together with Marco Zhu-Schneider from feinjersey, whose technical mastery shaped the engineering side of the concept. OceanSafe is proud to contribute the material foundation with naNea and to support both partners in bringing this performance innovation closer to scale.
Further updates will follow as HydroActive enters the next stages of development and prepares for broader application within the HUGO BOSS performance portfolio.
